Learn real skills with real people.
About Wise
WISE was born in the back of a pick up truck on Wolfe Island during Covid. Two friends with backgrounds in education lamented the screentime epidemic, a new landscape where children were not encouraged to DO things, and the often lonely existence of our seniors whose rich knowledge was being wasted. In the spirit of DOING, WISE was born.
By connecting generations, WISE fights ageism and social isolation. Our skill building workshops create competence and confidence. We value CONNECTION, AUTHENTICITY and EMPOWERMENT.
In a world of online learning, we offer real get-your-hands-dirty workshops run by real people, with tried and tested experience in their field. We’re about the whole community thriving, not just surviving. Come learn WITH us!
Our workshops are organized and run by Carone Beaucage, B.S.W. (TMU), Certified Waldorf teacher, and former camp director. Carone also has a wealth of experience working with seniors, having grown up in a family-run nursing home. She is a proud member of Sagamok Anishnabek First Nation.
Most of our workshops take place on Wolfe Island. If you have a workshop idea, or want us to come to your community, we’re open to ideas. Let’s talk!

“Kids these days can’t DO stuff…but kids used to know how to DO things!”
— Anna, age 8
“Before I came here I didn’t know anything about cars, but I was learning how to drive one! Now, I not only know how it works a bit, but I can look after it. I can put air in the tires, and jump the battery. I know what to do if something goes wrong. But mostly today, I gained confidence. I feel better!”
— Vaskia, age 16
